Join the LA Council of Ski Clubs at their Snow Gala 2010. The event takes place on the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach, featuring dinner, dancing, drinks and a silent auction. Council of Ski Clubs is having a raffle and the grand prize is a trip for one person to the Sun Valley, Idaho, ski trip, Jan 22 - 29, 2011. The tickets are $1 each or 11 tickets for $10. As an aside, my son did an internship there over this last year and we found the wines to be quite enjoyable! Please join us for our monthly meeting Thursday, September 2 at 6:30pm at the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club, 1363 Spinnaker Dr., Ventura Marina, Ventura, CA 93001. Please bring a side dish and the club will be providing chicken and burgers. The Los Padres Ski Club General Meeting is FRIDAY night, August 6th, at the Santa Paula Inn, 111 N. 8th Street, Santa Paula, CA . Please bring a pot luck dish and arrive early (5:30pm) to enjoy the Santa Paula Car Show. As usual, the LPSC will be barbecuing burgers and chicken and later in the evening sitting around the fire enjoying the evening.

The L.A. Council of Ski Clubs is hosting a strip to Sun Valley Idaho, January 22nd through the 29th, 2011. If you’re interested, please contact Dave Felker. Please review the attached flyer. I’m pleased to announce that our new website is up, although in a very basic form. I’ve tried to emulate the content of the old website as thoroughly as possible. You’ll see that things are a bit different now, but hopefully everyone will get used to the changes quickly. I have many ideas for enhancing communication with members and easing repetitive administration tasks, and you’ll be seeing these ideas materialize in the coming months.
