Carol A has organized a neat hike and cool luncheon for Sunday , April 7 starting at 10:30 am at the Paramount Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, 2903 Cornell Road Agoura Hills (click for map link). The trails are “easy to moderate” and wander through an Old Western town from various Hollywood movies. Cost is free.

Following the scenic hike, we have lunch planned at the Sunrose California Eatery, in the Whizzins Market Square located at 5046 Cornell Road Agoura Hills, just off the Ventura Freeway. The restaurant is a stylish daytime eatery and bar that celebrates classic California cuisine with a modern touch (rated 4.8/ 5).

We are invited guests of the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club (PBYC) to the Ventura Harbor Annual Parade of Lights And Potluck Dinner. The event starts at PBYC on Saturday December 16th with the Bar opening at 5:00PM and the potluck dinner following.

This year’s theme is Hula Holiday! We’re looking forward to a colorful boat parade, with a tropical island vibe, which we can view from the club or down on the docks. We’ll SEA you there!

Now is the time to book your Holiday Lights Cruise for Thursday, December 15.  Enjoy a cruise of the Ventura Harbor and the Ventura Keys to view the holiday lights and listen to music. Dress warm, no high heels. Cash & Credit Card galley with snacks and beverages. Don’t be left dockside because this cruise will sell out! There are three ways to book:

As announced at the LPSC meeting last Thursday, Rebecca has arranged a trip to the islands…we are going with Island Packers to Santa Cruz Island (were you thinking Hawaii? Sorry!) on Sunday May 22. We will take the 9:30 boat out of Ventura Harbor to Prisoner’s Harbor with an option to stay on the boat (extra fee required) to the Painted Cave.

If you are interested in joining, either call Island Packers at  805-642-1393, or  follow the links below for more information and to sign up with Island Packers. Since the group rate is the same as the senior rate we decided to have participants sign up with Island Packers on their own. Senior roundtrip is $58 and the extra fee for the Painted Cave is $17.

This will be an all-day outing and you will need to bring food and water for the day. There are hikes on the island and we plan to have a beach picnic! 

If you plan to stay on the boat for the Painted Cave, you will be brought back to Prisoner’s Harbor with plenty of time (about 3 hours) for a hike/picnic. The boat home leaves Prisoner’s Harbor at 4:30.

Occasionally Island Packers has to cancel a trip due to weather. Rebecca will be monitoring the Island Packers site the day of our trip. If you plan to go on the trip, email us at LosPadresSkiClub@gmail.com and we will notify participants by 8 AM of any changes! It will also be helpful to know who is going for planning time on the island.
