Garment District Bus Trip

Please join us on a bus trip to the Los Angeles Garment District on Monday, November 13, 2017, 8am to 4pm.  Cost is $35/person and includes the bus driver’s tip.

The bus leaves from the Oxnard Adult Education parking lot at 2110 West 2nd street, Oxnard.  The bus drops you off in front of the the world famous Michael Levine, Inc., store at 920 Maple
Avenue in Los Angeles http://www.lowpricefabric.com/.  Besides shopping there and at other fabric stores nearby for low cost fabrics and notions, you can also visit the Flower district for fresh flowers and live plants and Santee Alley, a famed flea market features a range of vendors selling clothing, handbags, accessories & street fare.

ALS Walk, Saturday October 29th 1000 am, Plaza Park, Ventura

Please join us at the ALS Walk, Saturday, October 29th, 10:00 am, at Plaza Park, downtown Ventura.  One of our club members, Chris “Ski” Chergoski is a long time survivor of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This walk will raise money to support the ALS Association’s mission to end Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.  Please wear a Hawaiian shirt to match the rest of the “Ski” team.

Beach Party July 22nd

The annual Beach Party is scheduled for Saturday, July 22nd starting at 10pm at our usual location at the end of Greenock Lane, Ventura.  The club will provide coffee,  bagels, champagne, mimosas,  and a sub sandwich.  Please bring  a snack, fresh fruit, or dessert to share.  Also, bring a chair, drinks, beach umbrella and  sunscreen.  We will be having a sand sculpture contest so bring your sand building tools, too, as well as ladder golf for team play.  Always a fun day!

Shelf Road Hike, Ojai, March 26th

Please join us for a hike on Shelf Road, Ojai, on Sunday March 26th, 9:30am.  It is a 3.5 mile moderately trafficked out back trail.  We will then walk or drive to one of the local restaurants for breakfast afterwards.  Directions:  Take 101 to 33 north, turn left on Signal and drive up to the trail head.  Park as close to the entrance as possible, but please keep in mind of the residential restrictions.
