General Meeting, Thursday, November 4th, 7:00pm

We are back to our winter meeting hours with NO BBQ. The General Meeting will start at 7:00 pm at the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club, 1363 Spinnaker Way, Ventura Marina. Please remember to bring a snack to share.

Bring your checkbooks or cash so you can sign-up for our Mammoth Trip scheduled February 22 – 27. We have reserved 2 condos and if we have enough sign-ups for the trip, we can try to get a third condo. As per our trip policy, the Club requires that full payment be received in order to secure reservation on a LPSC trip. If you wait too long, we will be unable to reserve another condo, or if we can, it may be at a much higher cost. Further information on the trip can be found here: 2022 Mammoth Trips

For those who wish to participate, we will be practicing some dance steps for the upcoming Fall party on November 6th. Also, we will be having a raffle and other announcements of upcoming social events.

See you there at 7 pm.

TGIT Thursday, October 14th, 4 pm – 6pm

To celebrate the spirit of Oktoberfest, we are having our TGIT at Transmission Brewing on Thursday, October 14th, 4 pm – 6 pm. Transmission Brewing, located at the former site of a transmission repair shop, is located at 1098 E Front St, Ventura, CA, and shares a space with the adjoining Toppers Pizza.

Transmission Brewing transmits their passion into everything they do. Especially their beer. Respecting history, yet pushing boundaries, they move the craft forward, with the mission to fill every glass with powerful flavor that leaves you wanting more. Besides a large variety of beers, Transmission Brewing also offers a “Thom Collins,” “Apricot Fizz,” and a “Blood Orange Mule.” More information can be found at https://transmissionbrewing.com/

Toppers Pizza offers a wide range of pizzas, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. Their full menu can be found at https://www.topperspizzaplace.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Menu-Jan-2020.pdf

So even though Germany cancelled Oktoberfest this year (and yes, it is usually mostly in September), that doesn’t keep us from saying “Prost” and raising a stein of Marzen-Style Oktoberfest Lager in celebration!

CicLAvia October 10th, 11 pm

On October 10th Los Padres Ski Club is planning an outing to ride bicycles in the CicLAvia event in downtown Los Angeles.  CicLAvia is an event where the CicLAvia organization arranges to close major city streets for one Sunday to allow bicycles, scooters, roller blades, skate boards, walkers and runners, basically any human powered propulsion to ride the city streets, see the neighborhoods and businesses without fear of traffic and enjoy the (hip, savvy, fun, insert adjective) citizens of our fair city in a healthy and fun activity. It’s about a 5 mile closure, so if you ride every length of it, then reverse course, it’s about 10 miles total.  People bring some amazing bicycles and human powered machines.  Everyone has a smile, there’s lots of kids participating.  You won’t feel crowded or rushed, it’s kind of like canoeing down a river.  When people spread out over 5 miles of city streets, there’s lots of room. We plan to meet at 11:00a.m. on the street.  See your email for a map and details on the meeting spot.
